Description

Where does one start in describing what we consider to be not only one of the best accommodations on the island of Amorgos, but also one of the best located accommodations in our complete Greek islands holiday programme.

Without doubt, it is the Hotel Aegialis’ amenities that set it apart from other accommodation on Amorgos. The hotel’s 50 bedrooms are split between 5 blue and white buildings. We can offer standard rooms, superior rooms, family suites, a stunning, luxury suite known as the honeymoon suite and exclusive rooms. All accommodation is air-conditioned, faces the sea, has en-suite facilities, TV, Wi-Fi, kettle with tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge, hair dryer, safe and a balcony or terrace with table and chairs. Superior rooms are considerably larger than the standard rooms, have more modern furnishings and come with both a larger bathroom and balcony or terrace. Family suites further add a separate lounge area with sofa beds whilst the honeymoon suite has two bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi spa, a separate lounge with sofa beds, a bedroom with canopied, king-size bed and three private verandas. Exclusive rooms differ from the superior rooms in benefiting from a king-size bed, walk-in closet, lounge area and large outdoor terrace with sea view.

Before we move on to describe the hotel’s facilities, we must comment on the hotel’s location which has an overriding influence on everything. As stated in our introduction to Amorgos, Aegiali is dramatically surrounded by magnificent hills. The view from virtually every part of the Hotel Aegialis takes in this breathtaking view. Whether you are sitting on your balcony, having breakfast, lunch or dinner on the hotel’s main terrace or lounging around the outdoor swimming pool, the truly stunning view towards the village over the bay of Aegiali is ever present. Having already mentioned the outdoor swimming pool, other facilities include an outdoor pool bar, restaurant and lounge as well as a very impressive, fully equipped Laion Idor Thalasso Spa & beauty centre which occupies a whole building on its own. The ground floor area, which includes indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym, is free to hotel guests. The treatment area on the first floor is charged extra. Please ask for a full list of available treatments.

To walk down to the village will take about 10 minutes but the journey back will take longer due to the incline. On the way into the village one skirts a sandy, tree-lined beach and in the opposite direction to the village a second, smaller, sandy beach is about 20 minutes’ walk away from the hotel. The Giannakopoulos family, Irini, Nikitas, Stamatis and Kaliovi are most hospitable and will welcome advising you on the wonderful, local walks & hikes to be had from the hotel. They are indefatigable in their enthusiasm for their home island and want nothing more than to share that same enthusiasm with their guests. A very warm welcome awaits. Please note that this hotel is open all year!
