Description

An exceptional location perched on the headland above the bay of Psathi with dramatic, sweeping, panoramic views to both the sea and Chora is the defining element of The Windmill. Of course, this does mean that guests need to negotiate a path which is quite steep in places, but we consider this a small price to pay. The windmill itself dates from 1852 and remains one of the few authentic, traditional windmills in Greece today. Recently renovated to create an elegant, boutique-style hotel, the small scale, traditional design combined with the aforementioned location guarantees a quite unique holiday experience. There are only 5 accommodation units. All are air-conditioned and include double or queen size bed, en-suite bathroom, satellite flat screen TV with USB port, Wi-Fi, pre-stocked mini bar, safe, hair dryer, beach towels and balcony or terrace. All 5 units are named and include the following variations:

“Apomero” is located on the west side of The Windmill on the ground floor with a view to Chora.

“Aloni” is located on the ground floor with sea view.

“Agnantio” is located on the top floor of The Windmill and has the best sea view.

“Apagio” is located on the ground floor with sea view and includes a living room with two sofa beds.

“Strogilo” is the largest accommodation with one bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor connected to a second bedroom and terrace with sea view on the first floor by an internal stone staircase. Each room has its own entrance.

Breakfast with Greek delicacies is served in the hotel’s café/bar located in front of The Windmill with splendid views of the sea, Chora and the surrounding countryside. Light snacks are available at other times of the day as are drinks from the bar in the evening when the same fantastic view is made even more special by the lights of Psathi and Chora.
